Job Description:
We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for an experienced Payroll Officer to join one of Australia’s most reputable organizations within operations and maintenance. This role is based in the Melbourne CBD and offers a Monday to Friday, 38-hour workweek.

As a Payroll Officer, you will play a key role in managing a large payroll function, ensuring timely and accurate wage calculations for employees. This part-time position involves working closely with employees and managers to handle all payroll-related matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • End-to-end processing of selected weekly and fortnightly payroll for over 500 employees
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PayGlobal payroll system
  • Updating and maintaining accurate payroll records
  • Addressing payroll-related queries from staff and management
  • Maintaining leave, sickness, and overtime reports
  • Interpreting awards, agreements, and contracts, especially regarding overtime and shift allowances
  • Calculating and processing termination payments
  • Other payroll administration duties as required

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with the PayGlobal payroll system
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated payroll processing experience
  • Excellent numerical ability and data entry skills
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines
  • Understanding of payroll legislation, including tax and superannuation
  • Ability to interpret relevant awards and legislation
  • Customer service-oriented approach

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of EBA or modern award systems is essential
