Job Description:
PBC Solutions is looking for an Accountant to join their team. Reporting to the Manager of Finance & Accounting, this role involves ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, performing financial analysis to support decision-making, and assisting with daily accounting operations.


Primary Duties:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and journal entries with proper documentation
  • Ensure journal entries are submitted accurately and within deadlines
  • Assist with preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
  • Maintain the fixed asset register, including capitalization and depreciation schedules
  • Prepare GST, PST, and other regulatory reports
  • Support year-end audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations
  • Review expense reports for proper coding and reimbursement according to the corporate policy
  • Analyze financial data and trends to identify discrepancies and areas for improvement
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Provide support for special projects as needed
  • Perform additional duties related to accounting services or administrative support

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 2-4 years of accounting experience, ideally in a corporate environment
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Workday) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel)
  • Experience with budgeting and forecasting
  • CPA designation (or progress toward it) is preferred
  • Tax experience and knowledge of tax reporting processes are an asset

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
