External Engagement and Global
The International Student Recruitment team is recruiting an International Officer to enhance the University of Exeter’s global reputation, help to build effective stakeholder relationships, and attract and develop students with the potential to excel. We engage with stakeholders in the UK and all around the world and have expertise in branding, strategic marketing, event management, digital and traditional media, student recruitment, admissions, market research and internal communications.
This full-time role is available immediately on a permanent basis and offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.
About the role
Working with colleagues in Faculties and Professional Services, you will contribute to the development of recruitment channels to support the achievement of the University’s ambitious international recruitment targets.
This post will initially be appointed within the Europe and Central Asia team, with market remits in these regions. The responsible markets and regions may change over time subject to further review of University priorities and business needs.
The University may be able to sponsor this role for a visa if needed, subject to the successful candidate meeting all the required conditions from UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI).
About you
Candidates are expected to have a UK bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with relevant experience in a customer facing role. You should relish the opportunity to work on your own initiative but be able to demonstrate a proactive approach to developing team strategies.
Knowledge of UK higher education structures and admissions processes is vital. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent presentation and interpersonal skills along with proven research and data analysis skills.
This position will require overseas travel with extended working hours.
Please ensure you read the Job Description and Person Specification for full details of this role.

Whilst all applicants will be judged on merit alone, we particularly welcome applications from groups currently underrepresented within our working community. Reasonable adjustments are available for interviews and workplaces.
